Cruelty-Free Makeup to Create Your Own Riverdale Vixen Looks

The gang is back! Riverdale season 2 premiered October 11, and while we’re ecstatic about it, unlike the first season, we can’t binge watch it in one weekend. This time, Netflix is releasing the episodes once a week. Boo! But, it does make our Wednesday nights more exciting.

As you’re probably aware, the Riverdale reboot of the classic comic book series features a stellar cast–and some seriously bad-ass women. Betty, Veronica, Josie, and Cheryl are all strong-willed, intelligent, and unique. And, since we’re skincare and makeup obsessed, we love that each siren has their own signature look.

While Betty is more down-to-earth and prefers a natural, glowing appearance, Josie is experimental and can rock a bold eye color with total confidence. We love recreating the looks on ourselves, so we thought we’d put together some suggestions on what cruelty-free makeup products you can use to transform yourself into your favorite Riverdale Vixen.

Betty Cooper

Betty is a natural beauty. Her skin is flawless (or it certainly looks that way), and glowing cheeks give her an ethereal appeal–in other words, she radiates! To achieve her girl next door look, don’t try so hard; embrace what mother nature gave you.

Apply concealer on blemishes and under your eyes, some blush or highlighter to your cheeks, a coat or two of mascara to lengthen your lashes. For a dewy finish, spritz on a bit of setting mist.

  3. Natural Lashes and Brows: Luna Nectar Moonstone Lash and Brow Tonic
  4. Mascara: Lily Lolo Mascara
  5. Setting Mist: Mullein & Sparrow Balancing Face Mist Toner

Veronica Lodge

Veronica is the polar opposite of Betty. Sultry and sophisticated, Veronica knows what works for her features and loves to play them up. While she experiments with different colors–red lip one day, nude the next–one thing is always the same: her well-groomed, thick (and enviable) brows, and smoldering eyes.

Cheryl Blossom

Cheryl is a natural born leader–although intimidation and force can only get you so far. Blunt and exact, she’s a detail-oriented aggressive girl, who speaks her mind and goes for what she wants. And while she comes across as cold, underneath her frosty exterior, there is a heart and real emotions saved for those closest to her. Ms. Blossom is always glamorous and classic with her ruby red lips, thick eyelashes, cat eye, and bronze eyeshadow.

Josie McCoy

Josie is grounded and knows what she wants. As a perfectionist, it’s hard for her to see others points of view at first (since she has such high standards), but eventually, she comes around. She’s confident, straight-forward and above all, a risk taker. These qualities help her to be an amazing performer and of course, allow her to experiment with bold makeup looks.

PS. Did you catch Luna Nectar advocate, Emilija Baranac, on the show this season? The stunning actress plays Midge Klump, a long time friend of Betty and Veronica, and the girlfriend of bad boy Moose. We can’t wait to see how her character develops as the season continues. It’s just getting good!
